How did you get your PSC nickname?
Erm, well nothing interesting really... everybody calls me DannyBoy
What is your real name and age?
My real name i Daniel and I'm 33 years old
Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
Im from Yorkshire... best thing? Patty & chips.
What do you do to keep the bills paid?
Im a designer and a photo retoucher for models and photographers. I also paint murals and bedrooms (themed)
What do you do in your spare time?
I have 3 kids and a career. What is spare time?
How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
I honestly dont remember how I found this place but I remember being hooked instantly. The best thing about it for me is the sense of community and the support that new choppers get from the ol' pros.
If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
Why kill the goose that laid the golden egg?
Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?
Not that I can think of right now... I'll get back to you!
How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
At least a couple of hours a day (More than I can spare)
What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
I used to go on one other but cant remember the name, it was crap though.
What tools do you use to chop?
I'm running on quad core 8bg ram, PS CS5 dual monitor (3x20" screens) on Vista Pro.
I've only just switched to CS5 from CS3 and I love it...
What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
It depends on the source; sometimes an idea pops out of nowhere and you run with it... otheer times I open in PS and chop it up, switch it about and hope something comes out. Occasionally I have posted a chop and other users have suggested changes which is great because it can put a new perspective on your work.
What inspires you?
In general or chopping? In general; my children. As for chopping it (again) depends on the source AND frame of mind at the time.
Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
I do have methods but I switch them around according to the work at hand.
What style of chop do you prefer to create?
As it flows.
Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
I dont like to use filters much as its a bit like cheating but sometimes it has to be done. My favourite PS tool is always the extract tool. I get the best results from that.
When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
I'll finish a chop (saving the psd and a Jpeg version) and I'll go have a coffee, come back and look at it and I always spot something that needs a tweak here and there. Other times I'll do a quick chop and post without much consideration.
What is the limit to what you will chop?
I have no limits really. As you can probably tell by one or two of my chops.
Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
Dont take criticism to heart in this place, MOST people here are giving you diamonds as far as improving your skills. I would say, stick to your own style but try and learn from the seasoned pro's. Watch some tutorials on That Tube site and here... mainly just have fun with it... I do.
What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
I dont really have a preference
There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
I think; use what you can and what you want... as long as your not stepping on copyright toes... do what you want.
What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
Wherever I can find them, Google or stock image sites
In your opinion what makes a good chop?
Authenticity and being able to tell that a lot of thought and work went into it.
Do you have a system to get things started?
Not really, like I said above; just open it in PS and hack it up, twist it, rotate it and see what happens... or go with your initial idea.
Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
No I dont think so
After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
Sometimes I will ask the Mrs... "What you think of that one" if she likes it I'll post it but mainly I trust my own judgement.
If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
I'd change it if I agreed with the opinion... I have many times.
What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
Originality, fun, authenticity and seeing the effort and time put into it.
Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
Nope, if I like it...I vote.
Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
I dont generally like to spend longer than an hour on a chop but hey... never say never.
We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
Yes i do the refresh page thing a lot.
What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?
My round 2 H2H entry
What do you consider your best chop so far?
Oh god I dont know... you tell me which you like best!
What do you consider your worst chop so far?

Who is your favorite chopper out there and why?
Oh I have few favourites but to name them would be telling.
What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?
I'm not bothered. Although I dont like to see people using other peoples chops in their own without asking first.
What is the best chop of all time?
I love this from Rey Rey: http://photoshopcontest.com/images/tourney/fullsize/30277030c88a7386a88354d06a1684e178e9f617379334.jpg
