Just wondering how many people here use tablets.
There are times that I think I could really use a tablet (I've never used one) as I can't draw well with my optical mouse.
The 'nice to haves' are $500+ but maybe a cheap $100, 4x5, 512 point would do just fine, I don't know. Except for professional use where it may be required, do those of you with tablets find them handy?

Aiptek has reberfished 4x5 tablets for 30.00$ ..i just got one from a friend..it came as if it was brand new from the factory and works great(i use a pc)

they are a very good thing to have if you are doing anything that has anything to do with graphics on your computer 
the 100$ 4X5 is really ok for using at home....

I just bought an Inuendo 2 A4 about a week ago. I got it reaalllllly cheap, I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. I can't tell from experience, but it seems that for a "normal" way of using photoshop you won't need it much... but if you start drawing, erasing and so on, it works just great.
I also use it with Painter, and it's amazing how great it works with this software.
If I had to pay the full prize, I'll prolly buy a A5 though.

I have a Wacom, but don't use it, unless I want to draw something......That's the only time I find it helpfull

As of this December, I started using a tablet instead of a mouse, and it has done wonders for my wrists and hands. No more pain, though it took at least a week or two to become comfortable enough to chuck the mouse. I use a little graphire as a mouse. As for graphics, the Cintiq with the embedded monitor is awesome.

THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!!!!
I love my tablet for paintovers--well not actually paintovers--
let's call it "reference painting" and at that it is
unmatchable.
Although I am not a big user of the pen tool-- ahhhh, the pen tool is mighty with a
tablet---takes practice though-- it's easy to screw up but quite fast and accurate.

I have this crappy Pablo or whatever its called.... doesnt work ever on XP without a lot of headaches..... I want to get a WACOM but i'm poor...... =/ When I get enough money and am so inspired I'm thinking of getting either the 6x8 or 9x12 Intuos 3.... Eh well, for now I'll stick to my trusty Optical IntelliMouse =)
And since we're on the subject of WACOM pads and what we find usful about them..... which of the accessories (more specificly Intuo3 ones) are actually worth getting, if any, and why?

I have a wacom. Been learning to draw with it (or simply to draw).
One issue I have is the wacom tablet doesn't seem to have the
highest priority, so when I draw a very small circle, it usually
ends up with a square side. ie. the pixels on the screen stop
even though my hand keeps going around the circle. Then later
photoshop kicks in and connects the dots of the circle with a
straight line.
Anyone ever experienced this "jumpy" type of behavior with
a tablet? Know how to correct it?

I have a happy electro-pad thang.
I use it when I'm doing PEN or PENCIL related actions. But mostly for chopping I use my happy Optical Mousey. But I keep the tablet near by, all I have to do is grab the styus and it switches automatically from Mousey to Tablet. That is cool - so I just keep it around for when i might spontaneously want to draw something lopsided and inaccurately!
