I just was pondering, as I do from time to time, that there seems to be no way to tell when archived (or past) contests were actually run.
Is there a way to tell when a contest actually ran? I was just looking at a member's portfolio and there is no way to tell when a particular contest actually happened (date of their image posting).
So, experts dear, what can be done regarding this? Is there something I'm missing (besides a life)?
Thanks for your expert assistance and may you have a good June 12th, 2005 !

If you click on "contests" on the home page, the dates are shown with the icons...this might be a drag if the contest you're looking for took place about 8 months ago, 'cause ya gatta check'em all......
It's not the heat, it's the humidity. Actually, it's the lack of any breathable air. I don't think we've paid our oxygen tax. How can we have so many trees and no air? Is this what they mean by global warming? Couldn't this have happened back in Feb. when my pipes were freezing? Speaking of freezing, my freezer isn't.
So, check the homepage....look under contests. Hope this helps, Rein....If not, please let me know, I'll research it further.

Sage - sorry, the air is MUCH thinner out west here. I don't get you.
I go to home page and the current time is there, but I'm talking about finding the posting date of old entries.
Example, if you go to my portfolio and locate the Blows n' Squeezes post I can't tell when I posted that. I could dig through my back files and figure it out, but I can't do that if I go to one of (example) Showcase's classic Electric Pumpkin posts from last year. I do not have his back files (nor would I want them). ( I want his LOVE but not his BACKFILES - are we clear on this?).
So there ya go. That is my challenge and complaint. I have many more but I'm only just one man.
Right girls!?

Hmmm...there are 20 pages of previous contests with dates on them, but if the contest you're looking for doesn't fall within this time frame, then I have no idea. Sorry, rein....

just go to page 20, add 12 to the number above, or in the the address bar, to go back one further page, add 120 to that number to go back 10 pages etc, etc, you can go back to the very first contest, but there's not many images left on that far back, although there are some familiar names

Ah - thanks folks. That works for that for sure!
What I'm wondering about is :
(EXAMPLE)
I go to USer Lookup and choose some little known member: say, SHOWCASE.
I then go to his portfolio and let's say go to page 3 of his porfolio thumbnails and pick this pic: http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/26995/display.html
From that I have no idea when that contest ran. Technically I could go back into the CONTEST posting as you've mentioned above, but that would take Way To Long.
Every once in a while when I'm checking out someone's portfolio I see a post that I go WHEN THE HELL WAS THAT CONTEST and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to find out.
That is why (as MarcoBallisIt said) having an actual date on the contest postings would help future generations track a members poting dates.
This is NOT a BIG THING - just wondered if, whilst peeking at people's past pix, i could easily find out when that particular posting previewed...
