Charge 2o% more than you want, when the client squacks, give him a 15% DISCOUNT and offer him 5% net 10 days early payment.

If I may suggest, never give the work until the client signs off and knows the price!

thank you much everyone, here's how it went : he asked me for the modelling of the cube, the wavy surface, the scene/light/material setup and a clean render.Since the job was not intended for graphics but for industry it had to be very precise ...lots of work
On the other hand, the guy is a friend: the first deal was the job / he lends me a professonnal digicam so I can prepare my exhibition .Once I had done the job, he changed the agreement and I had to ask him for money instead.But he wouldn't call back to pay, so I got impatient, he called back then pretending he had to have the model remade in a 3d studio because the one I had made, he had seen and accepted wasn't good , after all.The point is....the model works, he didn't answer the emails for 3 weeks untill I got impatient, and now he doesn't want to pay, but thank me with a few bucks...no idea how many.


I actually made about 30 renders till he found the materials he wanted to use on the real model....


that's the story :p

Charge him by hourly rate. If it took, let's say, 10 hours work than it is 10 times €45,-- = €450,--.

But be wise the next time to make arrangements in advange
