Yeah, one thing that disappointed me was the hysteria and vitriol from a large section of the US media and population against the French, just because they <i>dared</i> to resist giving in to the Americans. <br><br>So much for celebrating freedom of speech and allowing openness and diversity of opinion. When the same kind of hatred and hysteria is shown towards America, they are often the same ones who understandably get angry and upset, yet they were hypocritically behaving in the same way towards the French.

Actually, not ALL Americans gave in to that. I have nothing at all against the French for their decision and I still order French Fries with my hamburger. (Indeed, no restaurant I know of here changed their menu)<br><br>Oh, and before anyone suggests this, my heritage is Scotch/Irish. There is not a drop of French blood in me, I just think.

Yes, yes, pal, I know. Just wanted it clear where I stood on this matter. This all comes from having a media that is real close to being state controlled, very dangerous thing.
