there is a tool above the hand symbol but it wont work as a jpeg

There's no way to add sound to a GIF (or if there is, I'm gonna be VERY surprised).
If you do need to do something like that with sound, you're probably better off using Flash.

And what's this symbol you're talking about???

Stu, I think he is talking about the annotation tool in Photoshop.

Ahh... thanks for that, Patre. I was looking in ImageReady, and the icon above the hand symbol there is the crop tool.

So anyway... this annotate tool can only add notes, right? And only to PSD, if I understand right. No option to add sounds.

That is my understanding Stu. That tool will add only an audio or written annotation to the PSD file. I have used the tool , and it works as advertized..
