Ok I don’t consider myself an expert and I know there are people out there that can create out standing animation, but here goes.
Had a few PM’s about how I achieved the rolling fog effect on my “Spooky Swamp”’
, animated gift.

Now I know there are quicker ways to do things in PS but I’m a fiddle and try kinda guy. Btw if any one can makes this explanation more professional please do so, I’m sheit at explaining stuff.
1. Create a new layer (Cloud Layer)
2. Select filter-render-cloud
3. Select erase tool-set opacity to %60. (This setting depends on the amount of fog you require.
4. Erase the cloud layer
5. Depending on the color of your image try to mach the cloud/fog to best suit your image. (If you want to create a spooky green fog de-saturate the image and set the color to green. Select image-adjustment-hue/saturation-de-saturate-hue set 103)
6. Select cloud layer
7. Select-layer-duplicate layer (Cloud layer2)
8. Select edit-transform-flip horizontal cloud layer2.
9. With the two cloud layers move them apart and join them at the edges.
10. They should join seamless. (This way you won’t get a jump in the middle of your gift animation)
11. Select-layer-merge down
12. This will join your two cloud layers together
13. Move your new cloud layer so it is end to end over your original image
Here comes the long boring bit
14. Nudge the fog, =>, layer 10 times. (The arrows on the key board)
15. Save image…repeat until the fog has passed over the original image.
16. Then use what ever animation tool you want to use.
Well I hope that helps some one.
