a forum dedicated to discussing just photoshop.

This is my second entry ever at PSC.
At the time I was a serious gumby--i wasn't even using photoshop--
I HAD NEVER CHOPPED BEFORE--
i was using an archaic Adobe product called "photodeluxe".
(which actually was a decent program)

I am making this thread because of "integration".
Integrating one image into another and making
it look like it belongs there is maybe the most basic and important skill
when it comes to PSC chops.
When someone new comes to PSC and enters several images where they
have inserted the source image into another image and does a decent job
of it- they get my vote--
what I wanted to show here was that I did not just integrate
the source into another image-- i went to the next level here==
the penguins are from 5 different sources--
the ice burg on the right is another source--
under water - made in photoshop--
the man was removed and then replaced back into the image
and the camera stand was made in photoshop-
the original sky and scene were color corrected--
they are brighter and have more color--
the snow field and edge of glacier are separate images.
My point is-- it is not JUST an integration but the creation
of a whole new scene with a small story to tell
that was NOT the original source or a Google find.
Some folks have been getting extremely good at integration (cut and paste)
I just want to share my opinion that this particular skill
is just a first step to master--once done it is time
for a person to move past it - not make a career of it--
and show us what you can REALLY create.
