357 miles per hour:beat this! Our national treasure the TGV juist beated the record of speed today (theres 2 minutes ago): 574,7 km per hour = 357 miles...i didn't find english links yet...ill try to.
The train was not a single railway engine but a "whole" train with 5 wagoons....guests were not attached by any belt. Electric power no monorail like japanese trains....it was quite amazing to watch thoses cam views, ...man...i like trains....

bleh, only 7km/h (4m/h) more, and it was only a 3 car-train set.

I was asking about the one this thread is about, but if you know the answer to both, that's even better. I also meant the speed it gets to normally, when it's actually moving.

Based on wikipedia
for the tgv
Depending on the type, top speed reached in normal behaviour is between 270(168) and 320(200) km/h(mp/h)
Average speed for normal transport is around 260 km/h (163 mph)
For the maglev
top speed of 431 km/h or 268 mph,
average speed 250 km/h (150 mph)
