Very cool. I would suggest telling people to hold up their hands around the photo to block out distractions (this instantly helped me). Could do without all but one of the 3D signs.

By changing the focal point of your eyes, uniform patterns combine and reveal a secret image. I've never made a stereogram before, so this project was a little tedius to learn.

I used a free program called Stereogram Maker to generate the main layer, but I had to use photoshop to manipulate the dolphin, transforming it from a bitmap of colors into a bitmap of 3D space.

It was hard to grasp, but basically the dark shades of a shape fall into the distance, and lighter shades compose the foreground, so I had to concentrate on the perceived 3D shape of the dolphin instead of the lighting properties that defined the 2D image

After generating the image, I imported the stereogram into photoshop and added the "3D" text as well as the PSC logo, replicating and applying the appropriate spacing. I also added extra shading and highlights, like the white pigment of the dolphin belly.

Sorry, I removed the PSC logo because it was distracting. I'll go into further detail after the contest for anybody that is interested.
