yeah... I am not sure how to size these things. I keep having to go to the lowest quality j-peg in order to meet all the criteria to enter. I use the actual download as my starting image... so if you or anyone has tips... it would be greatly appreciated

I'm not using PhotoShop, but in Paint Shop Pro I usually double the size of the original to work on it. When I'm finished, I merge all layers and resize to 1280x960. Sometimes I don't have to increase the compression--sometimes I do.
