this could be superb, it is a great idea. Issues are raised from a couple of things that stop it being really good. One thing is that the symmetry is to evident. When I do a chop that structure is basically symmetrical I then spend time altering each...

... side quite heavily. Adjust the angles, the texture and creases, shapes and formations each side has. Then you will see the difference if you flick between what was, and what you have done to it. Makes a massive difference overall.

Also the definition of the face here could be stronger, more impacting. at the moment it spans across the tree textures while looking overlayed and see-through. Needs to be more stregth to the shape and structure of the face...

... last thing I would consider is to make sure the light source match on both sides. If you look both the legs are lit from different direction thanks to the horizontal flip. Concentrate on where the light comes from, and match it...

... example is the right leg needs to be lit from the left, not the right, so use the levels, adjustment layers and dodge and burn to adjust it. Hope all this helps :o)
