The reason I was hesitant to vote was that the shadows all seem like they are coming from different directions with different intensities. Nonetheless the idea to make the gore take the place of the gum is brilliant and so is the "goliath" . ;)

A really nice entry and idea, the main thing that held it back for me is the pretty noticeable difference in source resolutions, the leg is quite blurry by comparison to the crispness of the arrows/shoe, for example.

Good job! one thing bothers me: the soft shadow (like a halo) at the shoe tip. It flattens it. I think its contour should be highlighted.

My one hard and fast rule is this...If a chop, no matter how good it is (and this is one of the best) is not worthy of a title then I cannot and will not vote for it. Sorry, but that's my "Code of the West".
