Forgetting for a moment that you didn't use the source image, ask yourself a question: If the sun is at the family's rear, what light source is illuminating them from the front? The addition of the lens flares is okay, but does it help?

Finally, you did a good job integrating the lions into the background, but I'm not sure you need the foreground blur. Cheers.
