You’re right burning couch, the shadow should fall away at the top towards the horizon instead of level to the camera.

I was think'n more laterally. It looks like the light is from slight left/above and just behind his head, so the shadow would cast more towards right of center,under him...me thinks. *!*

That would be consistent with the shadow on the pommel horse. I never went back to the source to check. Spent more focus building the background.
