What is your real name and age?
Brandon
Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
Nashville TN usa, it's a cool place - and I hate country music, yet it's still a cool place
What do you do to keep the bills paid?
I do accounting
What do you do in your spare time?
goof off, chop, play video games
How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
not sure how I really found it, I was immediately impressed with the talent/creativity and lurked for at least a year before getting the nerve to sign up and give ''chopping'' a shot.
If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
Complainy threads in the forums... they just waste everyone's time.
Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?
I'm a Libra
How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
lots
What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
Reddit, Imgur
What tools do you use to chop?
windows7, CS3
What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
I haven't quite figured that combination out yet.
What inspires you?
other interesting photography and photoshops
Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
messy all the way... trial and many, many error.
What style of chop do you prefer to create?
sometimes photo-real, but mainly space and/or dark surreal... though I am all over the board lately
Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
I try to avoid filters for obvious reasons, though I do love the "grainy" feel one can create with certain tools.
When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
constant changes until I lose interest. I am not a perfectionist by any means
What is the limit to what you will chop?
no limits per say, though I do not typically spend more than 3 or 4 hours
Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
read/watch tutorials
What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
objects mainly. I seem to have the best luck with random objects
There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
a chop is a chop... if it is creative and has a noticeable amount of source in it... then I can dig it.
What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
Google Images I suppose.
In your opinion what makes a good chop?
creativity, originality, and most importantly EFFORT regardless of skill levels.
Do you have a system to get things started?
music is a must... though no real system.
Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
yes, not being able to accomplish the crazy idea or just wasn't up to my own satisfactory.
After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
post it, and later seek opinions of a very select few
If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
typically just stay with what I had... I learn from the mistake yet don't necessarily feel the need to change the old.
What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
creativity, originality, and most importantly EFFORT regardless of skill levels.
Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
obvious attention seekers, unnecessary ill-conceived grotesque, and over all laziness
Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
3 to 4 hours, any more is really too much, i don't get paid for this after all
We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
constant, i want to know who voted and said what, or why
What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?
none really, I don't ever expect much of my chops. as such its a much greater surprise/appreciation when one does better than I expected
What do you consider your best chop so far?
Oddly not my only winning chop, I have a few favorites of my own, and some are not from/on this site. Though here I would say I had the most fun making my "Billie-Jean" chop
What do you consider your worst chop so far?
oh man, quite a bunch.... most all of my early "gimp software" chops... they were mostly awful aside from a very few.
Who is your favorite chopper out there and why?
I'll never tell
What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?
... this is getting redundant...
