How did you get your PSC nickname?
I entered my e mail address in the username box. Worst "nickname on PSC.
What is your real name and age?
Obadiah feeblfeetzer, 101
Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
Indiana. the best thing about Indiana is the wonderful feeling I get every time I leave it.
What do you do to keep the bills paid?
Live in a box. Basically.
What do you do in your spare time?
Duh...
How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
Don't remember. The nice choppers.
If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
The not so nice choppers. because i don't like not so nice people. Actually I would have more contests each day. Like one where you get a really crappy source image like the ones in the money contest. And another where you get an image you can do without having the imagination of a science fiction writer. I would also like to enter much larger images.
Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?
There is life after death.
How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
way more than i should.
What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
News, so i can comment and spread my glorious opinion all over the planet.
And other stuff i can't tell you.
What tools do you use to chop?
Cs6
What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
Beer.
What inspires you?
Beer And Daneary or whatever her name is.
Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
I get an idea... I go look for an external that will fit the source, then when I can't find it I give up and come back tomorrow.
What style of chop do you prefer to create?
I like well placed externals and matching them so they look like they were shot that way.
Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
Any overt filter is usually frowned upon around here. I just try for clean selections and overall color balance. I like gifs when i can make one that doesn't turn out too grainy
When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
It's done when i tire of nit picking it. Then i post it and see something awful I've missed and UPD once or twice.
What is the limit to what you will chop?
Won't do offensive religious stuff.
Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
Get a life. Go outside. Destroy your computer NOW! Okay you insist... Don't overdo the tuts. You forget what you learned and have to go find the thing again. When you learn a new technique that you like, leave the tut and go do it. Then use that technique until you have it mastered and you won't forget it. There is no end in watching tuts. Either chop with every tool you know or spend your life watching tuts. Almost anything can be done with the most basic tools and skillful use of layers. If I want the best results I usually cut an image into all it's components. And keep the original layer. Layer styles are a godsend. So are blending modes.
What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
Well, not a bunch of rusty old cans in the weeds. At 101 My imagination is pretty much limited to making something edible out of peanut butter and noodles.
There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
I love gifs. Externals help to tell a story. I like a story. Nobody wants to vote for a story but I try them anyway. Some people on here can turn a sponge into a rocket ship. that's great work. Not easy. But I don't like it. Putting the PSC logo in a chop. Hmmm... I did that once in a very small way. i really don't care for it.
What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
Creative commons.
In your opinion what makes a good chop?
A Story or something to make me laugh. Tension. Fine art like Anabe does. nice tones. A smooth gif.
Do you have a system to get things started?
Beer.
Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
yes. "cause it sucked.
After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
i live in a box. Not too many visitors you know? I also have a shift key that doesn't work half the time. so i often don't capitalize a lot.
If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
Depends on if I still have the PSD version or if it,s a quick fix. Otherwise it is what it is or isn't.
What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
imagination and detail.
Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
Same as most i guess. If you don't see the source then it's over.
Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
Always way too much.
We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
Couple times the first day, once on the second then wait for the sympathy votes.
What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?
All of them
What do you consider your best chop so far?
"Levitation". "My Dog Spike" was great but not a winner. i was pissed.
What do you consider your worst chop so far?
You would really ask me this/
Who is your favorite chopper out there and why?
Daenerys, Awesome. very skilled artist with a great sense for tones. Anabe is close.
What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?
Too much robot science fiction game stuff that has no story.
What is the best chop of all time?
The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
Do you have any other PSC related comments to add?
Need bigger file sizes.
