How did you get your PSC nickname?
I used to play Battlefield two at my friends house constantly. We just used one account, and one copy of the game. He didn't have an email address, so I let him use mine. After I moved I got my own copy of the game and tried to register my own account. Since the email was taken I just kept the username, and it it stuck I guess.
What is your real name and age?
Trey. I'm 20.
Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?
I'm from Memphis TN, but have lived in Nashville for the part of my life that I remember most. I like it because it has a nice climate, and people are usually pretty friendly.
What do you do to keep the bills paid?
I work at a fast food restaurant while I'm enrolled in college.
What do you do in your spare time?
Lots. I write code. I write and record songs. I also work on cars.
How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
My friend sent me a link to a chop that Marco did. Moment of terror: http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/120865/moment-of-terror.html
After I saw that I joined and became addicted pretty quickly.
If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?
I've changed a few things already. Working on more.
Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?
I like turtles.
How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
Lots. Probably way too much. I don't necessarily post that much, but I lurk quite a bit.
What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
fmylife.com is fun every now and then. Facebook fa sho.
What tools do you use to chop?
Mac OS X 10.5.6 running on a PowerMac G5 Tower. Dual Core 2GHz processor, and 8.5 GB RAM.
Also, a Unibody MacBook 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2GB RAM.
What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
Listening to music helps. I just put my whole playlist of nearly 4,000 songs on shuffle and go wherever the music takes me.
What inspires you?
Things that happen in my real life, and emotions that I'm feeling.
Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
Yes and no.
What style of chop do you prefer to create?
I don't have a preference.
Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
A combination. I've learned to stray away from brushes and filters as much as possible.
When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
I may fix a few things before the comp opens, but unless people point out flaws I usually don't update during the comp.
What is the limit to what you will chop?
I don't have one. Although I've never really posted anything that was very offensive that I'm aware of.
Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
Not really. I don't have that much skill.
What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
As long as it gives me more than just a few ideas I like it.
There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
I don't care either way. It's all art.
What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
SXC.hu and google.
In your opinion what makes a good chop?
It's hard to put a definite answer for this, but an original idea with good execution is very helpfull.
Do you have a system to get things started?
Yeah. Look up a few questions.
Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
Yeah. Quite a bit actually. If I'm not fully satisfied, I usually won't post.
After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
I usually post it, but lately I've gotten some great tips from fellow choppers beforehand.
If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
Depends on how bad I messed up.
What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
When I vote, if it grabs my attention.
Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?
No.
Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
Anywhere from an hour to ten hours. More than a day at the computer working on a chop is too much.
We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
I do check votes, but it's not my biggest concern. It always surprises me what gets voted for and what doesn't. Every one of my entries has surprised me.
