Hello everyone !

A big hello from France to all the people I met in this place

I've made a couple of animation in flash and I'd wish to convert them in .avi .
The problem beeing that I lose quality in a enormous way doing this from Flash itself when I export it in the .avi format.

I tried to import the .swf file in Premiere (with a plug in I can't remember the name of), but the quality wasn't good either...

does anyone has a better solution !

I think there are programs out there where you can record your screen while a flash file is running. I did it before to record a flash game while I was playing it. I can't remember the name of the prog I used off the top of my head.

google for it and you will see loads of swf to avi converters

Actually it´s Camtasia Studio... perfect quality and it exports for various formats, allowing you to define the quality... preety cool and better and quicker than converting the swf to an avi. It also allows you to record voice and video along with the screen. You can choose between recording everything on screen, a region in the screen or a window in the screen. Preety decent software. Great for making tutorials too.

I tried Camtasia Studio and i don't really like it. The video quality is good, but if you have quite a lot cpu usage, Camtasia wil flicker.
Because i use flash a lot, i know that flash CAN take a lot of cpu usage. I guess that a flash video has lots of special effects and some sort of sound loop. That wil take pretty much cpu and memory of your comp.
I'm using a AMD 3000 with a gig RAM and a geforce GT videocard and i had problems with camtasia studio. I guess you can try though...

I'm using Premiere now to edit animations and videos, but some things are easier to do within Flash. I don't know if you can import .swf directly with Premiere pro 2... I'll give it a try as well !

I'll save ya some time. No, you can't import swf in premiere pro 2.

But what really pissed me off at Premiere 2 is that it doesn't support the MainConcept MPEG Pro plugin... what means I have to stick with 1.5 until the motherfuckers at Mainconcept decide to release the new version...

well camtasia is very expensive for me, so i've never tried it. hope it's worth of money it costs.
there's also a free camstudio but it's just a screen capture program, so it will record any mouse movement. so it's a poor choice i think.
really good program i can advise is flash to video encoder http://www.geovid.com/Flash%20to%20Video%20Conversion
a simple version is for conversion only but i use a pro version, it has also some very useful options (i.e. grab images, burn DVD, make logo... etc)

What worked for me is opening the file in Quicktime. For some reason, it automatically converts when you save. Don't tell me how Quicktime sucks, cause I know it. It tries to hijack all your associated files...but if you get an older version, that doesn't happen so much.
