what about a button "go go last post" when you open a forum-thread that has plenty of pages, as a shortcut to reach the recent post ... like "go to top" but inverse ...

uhhhh you can already do that. click the little icon after the last posters name

that works if you come to the thread by the forum, i usualy go to forum by clicking the thread on the homepage. You can however choose to sort by newest first at the bottom of the thread, but you have to scroll down first so just as easy to hit the last page number instead and scroll down then

or you can just click the last page's number and then CTRL-END to drop to the bottom of the page.

maybe i'm an lazy ***, but i'd also like to see a "go to the last post in this thread" button, at least for the topics on the homepage (that are the most interesting ones).

you know, Tofu, i usually do it your way, but its always like clicking 10 times around the extremely small last number, because the browser will load pictures and just rearrange the layout, thus letting me click a wrong number (especially on long threads) and then loading the wrong page where the same procedure starts again until i take my 30 seconds so that the page layout can settle down and i am able to securely hit the last number.

oh well... at a certain point one will not complain anymore... just resign
