ok, so 1.0.7 is definately the best version to use for this site, then. FF and I haven't had any problems. Thanks for the warning, though, I'll be sure not to "upgrade" to 1.5.0 or whatever its called.

I used to be a faithful IE user, but when I discovered the tab thing as well as a couple of other things in Firefox, I thought what the hell and i've been using it since. I like it because its such a small file that I can run it off of a USB flashdrive wherever I go, and the fact that, for me, it's as fast, and sometimes faster, than my version of IE.

yeah, I'm talking about how Firefox is better than IE. some people said earlier that IE was fsater. So, no, i'm not kidding, merely stating what people said earlier.

the only thing slower about Firefox is starting up, once you've done that, it's all faster (thanks to the Gecko engine)
IE is just a bunch of crap, a major security risk, not following web standards, bad render engine... well, just typically M$

yes, that's true. Firefox doesn't start immediately. but still, it only takes a couple of seconds. But, considering the stuff it has that IE doesn't, it's definately worth it.

why is everybody so crazy about a burning fox?
for the matter of speed: here's somebody who did an extensive test of major (and minor) browsers:
http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html
FYI, i'd like to quote from the summary:
The Testperson wrote:
So overall, Opera seems to be the fastest browser for windows. Firefox is not faster than Internet Explorer, except for scripting, but for standards support, security and features, it is a better choice. However, it is still not as fast as Opera, and Opera also offers a high level of standards support, security and features.
...and i agree!
on the other hand... have it your way
