Sorry if this has already been posted, but i would like to know how to remove an item in the way of another, ie. if there is a lamp post in front of a building - how do u make it vanish so it looks like its not there and u can see the entire house.

Is it easy?

Clone tool is your friend. Sample frequently, work with a feathered edge and take your time doing it right. I work in GIMP but I hear PS has a "healing brush" that might be useful. Wink

You'd better call the city first to disconnect the electricity.

Whatever you do, don't drive into one of those babies with your car. They cost about $1000 and fall like trees. Worse if your friend is driving and you both fall asleep. No matter how loudly you scream at the cops not to ring your doorbell at 4 in the morning, they will. Hard to run when both your knees hit the dashboard. But I digress.

Tofu's right, use the clone tool. If your wall is made of bricks, be sure to match the pattern so your cloning is seamless.

Post an example pic, so people can make the post disappear and then tell you how they did it. Each picture is different.

(Sage, you said you wouldn't tell about that time in your car. Anyway, like I told you, I didn't fall asleep at the wheel.... I woke up at it.)

what what what?
How had I missed the healing brush and patch tool all this time!

Being a newbie, I'd always overlooked these and just used clonestamp. I've been practicing with it some, and this is really cool! In case of some of you other newbies want to learn about clonestamp's first cousins, here:s a good tutorial:

Also, why didn't anyone tell me about the unsharp mask filter? Not much practice with this yet, but you guys should've told me about this. You're all shitty teachers! I want my money back!
