Exactly. There's always going to be a certain amount of randomness in these things. You never know who you're up against, you never know the source. I think choosing the person with the best numeric performance in the previous round was the most logical way to go.

I dont think it maters, at the end of the day if he moves to the next round and is not good enough, he drops out (which he didnt!) Also, it is not the best 16 that go on to the next round, the only way the best 16 could be choosen is by voteing in a standard contest. When you compete one on one like that, the 2 best enterys could be put up against each other and only one is going to get through!
