I loved the last tournament, but to solve the problem of turning away people who wanted to join the last tournament, but we needed a number of entrants which would be knocked in half after each round to get to 1 person (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512); maybe we could have a musical chairs style tournament where the person with the lowest vote total gets dropped after each round, kind of like what american idol does, but without ryan seacrest. this way, if we get 347 people who want to join, we don't have to turn down 91 of them. granted, if 347 people join, this tournament will take almost year to complete even if we have daily rounds. maybe that's not such a bad idea though, if will force people to be active and only the people with the most creative stamina will survive because if you miss a round, you will be automatically dropped from the tournament. we'll have to make it one entry per person and anonymous voting like we had in the last tournament and we'd have to set a limit on the number of votes each person can cast.

interesting idea. Maybe we could sdd this to the list of PSC tournaments, along with the H2H, Reunions, Scavenger Hunt, etc that would be one hell of a schedule. It's pretty much back to back as it is.

I think that's a great idea, but if we did it that way, we'd have to eliminate more than a few people per day. A year is way too long for a tournament, imo. It would be have to be called a marathon tournament otherwise!

i agree, something new should happen here!!! what about the one on one tournament, imo a good idea though...

like day one is elimination of 10-20....

day two is 5-10

next is 5

then eliminate 1 each day after

u could also hold several tourneys at the same time... for example (to quicken things up)

432 people joined the tourney, divide it by 2 and set 2 divisions of 216 each. the top 3 of each division compete for 1st 2nd and 3rd or however.

Hey, I've got a great idea for the tourney too. Everyone writes their name on a piece of paper, throws it in a hat, then JMH picks one out and reads the name out loud. That's the winner of the tourney!

I'd have a better shot of winning, anyway.

It is a good idea, but why not do it like this. say 70 people want to join. Have a contest, like the normal ones, for all the entries, the first 64 people go on to the tournement.
