*picks up dead horse* so... i was thinkin... based on the usual contraversy stemming from the "what is art and what is porn" why not a psc fer the ..." mature"... 18 or 21+ who want to. sort of a freedom of chop but in good taste. but... good taste usually will bring us back to the "its art" arguement. so... i throw this in the air and see where it lands.

EDIT added: okay.. OTHER THAN THE usual sex, nudity, blahblahblah... but bring it to the next level of drama that may not be suitable for the younger audience. say ya wanted to compose a scene similar to the first 15 minutes of saving private ryan or maybe start hanging things on meat hooks and say "here is my work, i want to show you, i want to compete against others for the same thrill that psc has to offer. i would make my own thing but i have no clue how to code fancy sites."

It's been made clear that this site will stay PG13. Make the risque chops on your own time.

There have been a couple..and I mean a couple very very nice
skilled chops that got pulled for showing nudity.
Those couple shots would be great to be able to see somewhere,
or at least have been "votable' through a thumbnail--leading to a disclaimer ,
and then to the image...but
..if the rest of those images that were pulled
were suddenly a part of this site. IMHO, the offensive nature of them
will be highly detrimental to this site.
we are not talking about *JUST* a little nudity if an adult section were added.
(IE: photoreals of babies being slaughtered-brutal violence-sexual violence-
hard porn)
I think we all already know just how upset a person can get, and just how
many people this site has lost over an image being pulled, and just how many
of them blew a gasket and caused a lot of problems for the mods and admin
after they left.
This is a huge can of worms..if we have an adult section we have too many
members that will want to use that section to display images that are innapropriate on any venue.
There is absolutely no way a section for adult content to work here except that each image be submitted for approval through a mod , and then the mod placing
that image in that section...I believe it will STILL cause problems beyond it's worth..

If you can chop 18+ you can chop that PG13

Another thing to consider, some hosting companies do not allow "adult" content. I'm fairly certain JMH has his own hosting but there are ISP's that dont allow that sort of content. If he is reselling hosting from another provider, "adult" content may be a violation.

I guess I like it the way it is. We have this argument each time an image is pulled for reasons of offense.

I am a great fan of the nude female form, and i tend to use nude or semi-naked females in alot of my pieces, but there is no need to show genitalia in art for it to have an impact, even the sight of a nipple is sometimes better off left to the imagination, as i discussed with Caf in a discussion we had a few days back, the piece looked no worse for having no nipple showing, in my opinion it looked better.

I tend to agree with most when they say they like the site how it is. I can handle 21+ stuff no problem, but obviously others here can't. Hell, a lot of people are offended enough by bloody chops, like Marco's old stuff. I don't think it would be wise or practical to change PSC.

The fun I have with my bloody chops, is leaving a mysterious edge to them, not actually showing the true scene of brutality, and if I did show it, I would expect it to be pulled.

On the sexual form point, hey I'm an open kinda guy, but Meaty makes a valid point that it is much better left to the imagination. Scion is also right. I mean if you just say here is a 18+ option, you will have all sorts of freaky, maybe even illegal images appearing. The site works great as it is. There is no need to risk both the credability and stability of the site over this.

I find it much more enjoyable both myself and watching others, being clever and just gently pushing the limits with chops that are only ever so slightly risky.

I mean near enough all of us know what privates parts look like, if anyone needs to check there are plenty of sites that can accommodate that
