I don't know if this is a feature yet or not. Is it possible to auto-notify an artist when his work is chosen as a favorite? I just think it would be cool to know when one of my entries is added to a person's favorites gallery. Hey, maybe it will happen.

That would be kinda cool.
On a related note I love the feature that tells you when a new vote/comment has been added to one of my chops. Bitchin!

I'd like to see a tally of an image's favorites somewhere near the tally of its votes on the image's page. The tally would be clickable, and then you could get the list of people that faved it in a little pop-up.

I won't argue the point, but don't ya think we all
get our egos fed just about enough already?
I will argue the point if such notification is given and
that notification does not include notification of when somebody
"DELETES" you from their favorites list.
I shall not call this fav notification...I shall call this

Well instead of being notified by mail or something I think it would be more usefull, if you see the image and below the names who added it to their portfolio.
Why not being notified. Simple reason, imagine me adding your image to my favorites, then deleting it, then adding it, then deleting it, then adding it, then deleting it, then adding it... Woohoow you have 4 mails!
But anyway, the idea is cool

Okay, I see Sci's point. I change my original idea:
Instead of being notified each time, have a running total of faves per image, without knowing who faved it. If a person un-faves it, the fave total for that image goes back down one.
Is this any better?

I actaully like the idea of knowing which of my images is a favorite. Whats wrong with that? If you are a professional photographer, wouldnt you want to know where your images are being used or sold...its sort of the same thing...only we dont get paid.
And and ego stroke is good sometimes.
Scion, you sometimes go a little too far with your ego thing. We arent a bunch of monks or something. We like to make images and we like our work to be appreciated. I dont see that as a problem.

agreeing with showccase on this one
so what if our ego's get fed by this. It's a way of people to show the appreciation of your work, and it's a good reason to continue doing what you're doing. Isn't everyone looking for a bit of appreciation ...
And btw, I have no problem with being notified if someone has deleted my work from his/her favorites. It is his/her good right and I won't look at him/her in a different way, the knowledge he/she appreciated my work once is good enough for me.
