Visitors to the site can now rate entries on a 1 to 10 scale. This data will be used for tie breakers and sorting options once enough collects. Ratings will be show near the pageviews if an entry has been rated. They will not be displayed until the contest ends if it is anonymous. If you would like to see this feature, log out and view a contest entry in an open contest.

On a related note, the voting/comment form has been moved up on the entry page, just below the author comments. Enjoy!

I actually had thought last week that maybe changing the position of the vote box might be a nice idea.

Great deal with the none member voting... however (and I am hardly one to ever complain) except with the comment/vote box moved one cannot simply hit Tab+enter to vote, thus requiring more clicking. Boohoo - I know, but it really threw me for a loop there as it is quite the habbit to type+tab+enter to vote.

*edit: the not having to scroll endlessly through everyones votes/comments is fantastic!

Yeah, JMH it would be good to know if any of the guest vote thingies came from the same IP addresses as members!

Hey I've just realised, this system sucks. You can update your Image as much as you want so it makes the going to the back thing useless!

I plan on restricting the ratings to any ip address other than the one that posted the entry. A member could still get around this, as well as session variables. Considering the relative un-importance of these figures in the big picture, it should not matter very much if a few users need to go an extra mile to self-rate.

like the improvement, I suggest we let it run for a while and reevaluate it within a couple of months if it's really an improvement.

Very good thing on the comment box though
