Anyway, you still got the programmable of interface of flash against.

Just a simple example...
The flash file for the pscroll is 14 kb, so it would be well within the limits for uploading.. But what you get is an image of over 60000 pixels in width and 500pixels height.

There would be no way to prevent me for uploading this as my entry (unless for a moderator deleting it afterwards).

Hardly would be fair against the traditional submissions of jpeg and gif files.. would it?

I dunno..I entered a 4.5 meg chop once.No one waited for it to load.
All I'm saying is , it's not really a 'photoshop' contest anymore anyway, might as well go all the way and have a real good time.

NO way. This is Photoshopcontest, not Flashcontest. There are few people here that could compete with flash entries, and everyone would be all "ooooh, aaaaaah!" over flash entries.
I like it when people share their flash stuff in the chat or forums, but no way should flash be allowed in contests.

I thought I read somewhere that 99% of computers had Flash installed.

Here on the Adobe website, the number is 96%.

I already dislike most of the gifs that get posted. I can't imagine the flashes...

flash is in a completely different league to basic images.

IMO photoshop asks from the artist to tell a story in a flat picture. It leaves a lot to the imagination of the viewer. With flash you can tell the whole story as in a cartoon.

While I do have respect for everyone who can make a great flash file, I have more respect for an artist who can tell the same story in one image.

I think that is what photoshopcontest is about.
