How come the contest opened 1 hour earlier??

US Daylight savings time.

I was as surprised as you were..i think they should have warned their european friends about that .. not that it is that much big off a deal but still .. i checked all my watches and teletext to be sure that i was not going crazy

The contest ending at 8am also ran an extra hour. Procyon has been notified, hopefully it will be fixed asap.

I guess we Americans expect the world to run by our watch. I actually forgot that Daylight savings was a US only practice. It used to be done closer to April, but Bush signed a new law that starts it 3 weeks sooner. Personally, I wish we would stay on Daylight savings time all year and get rid of our standard time. Europe doesn't have a similar foolish clock changing practice at all?

we change our time 2 times a year.. but not now..that's why i was totally confused

doesn't UK have daylight savings time?
it was early this year for some reason.

Sunday 25th March UK time, clock's go forward an hour, always forward on last Sunday in March, back an hour last Sunday in October
