Hello friends...here's my question:
Once i made one or 2 giffys and i had no problem with getting those less than 512k, but i used A.Elements to make the GIF from the .psd.
Now i wanted to use the Image Ready cs2 and when i save optimized as... impossible to get sthg less than 2 mega! ...be sure than my frames are B&W and there are 23. Size of pic is good to (i have one of 550x450 and other 450x3...sthg).WHy ?.How to do this?

I think I'd ask Bigbuck or someone to do that for me.
Just grab him, or another good giffer on msn and send it to him.

Gif... they are a real pain... you have optimisation windows > optimise.

Also you can cut out unnecassary frames by changing the timeing on them (in the frames bar)

You can also change the image size..

try not to rape thequality to much we do want to see what it is... (and if all else fails... image shack link below the post) Save a frame and use that

ya have to play with the gif settings to get it the best quality and lowest kb possible.

heres few steps i go thru... just a few.

1. less frames = smaller size... uh... yeah...
2. less color = smaller size. start at the top and werk yer way down from 256 to 64 colors while flipping between settings Adaptive, Selective, Perpetual... one of those will give ya a nice pallet.
3. Dither will give you nice detail but can increase file size. once ya find a nice pallet, toggle the dither on and off. sometimes with dither on ya can get away with less colors and a nice small size. says like instead of 128 colors no dither ya can get something nice with 64 colors with dither. its silly like that.
4. another silly thing is Transparency. even though ya might not be using one in yer gif, transparency sometimes knocks the kb size down a bit so turn it on and see... just make sure the transparency dither is off.

scion: send it to me, i'll turn them into flash
Micose: when you re_edit a .gif from PS to IR always "delete animation" > "create layer for each new frame", sounds drastic, but it has to be done
