I'm having difficulty with my images looking collaged rather than natural. I'm pretty sure its mostly perspective and lighting. IS there any in-depth tutorials about this? I'm also wondering what the best way to turn a daytime image into a night time one. I've found random answers for this through the lighting effects filters, brightness/contrast, and curves tutorials, but they are pretty lackluster. Please help, there are so many great images on here and I'd like to compete at an above average level at least.

Welcome to PSc. I'm afraid i can't be much help..I kinda do it a whole different way each time.

A lot of times you manually have to add Highlights and Shadows to match the external lighting.

I checked out some of those tutorials and they're much more helpful than the ones I've found. Hopefully my next submission will show improvement over my previous chops. BTW I'd like to know how long the average person spends on a particular chop. Care to elaborate?

I don't think it matters. You shouldn't give yourself a time limit, just work on it until you feel it's right. I take a pretty long time with mine... but not at all once. I work on it for like a half hour or an hour, then do something else to give myself thinking time, things come to me better when I'm not just staring at the screen, and then come back, and then do something else for a while, etc... Maybe it's because I can't sit still Razz

The colors not being matched correctly throughout the scene can also lead to the collaged look.

some times if the shadowing is not too obvious you can create a new layer grab the paint brush and paint black for shadows and white for highlights. then just reduce opacity. this will be a very basic fix and very rough but works fine on blurry areas and small areas Very Happy
