We had severe weather roll through today. Hail was officially measured at 4.25". To give an idea that's softball-sized hail.

Reports say a tornado touched down here in Wisconsin Rapids. Haven't gone to the damage site yet as in the middle of all this my transmission started to die.

All in all there were at least 5 tornados that touched down around here. No reports of death or even major injuries so that's good. If I find out where the damage path is I'll see about getting some pics.

Yikes! Scary stuff I could imagine! We don't typically get tornadoes here, but we have had a few that have claimed lives. Glad you are all okay.

Guess that rules out Wisconsin for vacation this summer? I lived in Tornado alley for four years. I never once saw a tornado. Time after time, The news said hide in the basement. Me, Oh no, I went up to the roof with a camera. And nothing! Not one!

We actually had a tornado where I live a few years back. Which is weird because I live in central Virginia, and there are a lot of mountains around.
My grandpa lives in Minnesota, so he's seen a few. I gotta help pick up a silo knocked over by a tornado.

Hmmmmmm.... Well days go by and now it appears that a tornado didn't actually touch down. The funnel cloud was spotted but it apparently didn't make contact with the ground. A drive around town confirms that for me. There was some wind damage in neighboring towns though (I haven't gone over to those towns).

Mainly lots and LOTS of hail damage around our area. The current estimate is over 2,000 cars with broken windows and dents. One used car dealer says he's out of business at the moment since every car on their lot was hammered by the hail.
