We could set it up any way we want it. For example on a monthly basis with 4 rounds with 16 people @ $5 = $80 in 28 days.
Round 1: 8 vs 8
Round 2: 4 vs 4
Round 3: 2 vs 2
Round 4: 1 vs 1

or we could compress it a bit (2 days to chop, 1 day to vote, 1 day break) and have 5 rounds with 32 people @ $5 = $160 in 19 days.
Round 1: 16 vs 16
Round 2: 8 vs 8
Round 3: 4 vs 4
Round 4: 2 vs 2
Round 5: 1 vs 1

We could also set up challenges for 1vs1 at whatever entry fees. I don't want this to turn into a gambling place though, so maybe the maximum entry fee would be $25.

All those variables remain flexible.

Basically you would add "virtual funds" to your PSC account and then you could use those funds to bid. If you win, the amount is transferred to your PSC account where you can either keep the amount, pay for a membership, send somebody an amount or withdraw an amount (partial or full).
To eliminate any transaction fees for PSC you would need to deposit the amount you want to add plus transaction fees. So let's say $5 + 0.30 + 2%

Are theme contests on the table here? If we are changing psc then you need beginner, intermediate and expert. Otherwise it's not much fun.

maybe changing it to "PSC points" or "advantage points" and a conversion rate like 10 points = $1 would make it legal if it is illegal.

The reason I don't like the idea is that the playing field is not level. If the intent is to run off everyone but the highest skilled then by all means ram this idea down. These are the kinds of threads that do not inspire me to chop, that make me want to never click here and to see If a refund can be had.

The regular contests would still take place. The money prize would just be an occasional thing. What is wrong with bringing more people to the site??
