Hi, All!
I've been a bit busy lately....
On Thursday, 10 July, Mr Caf and I went to the hospital because I had some bleeding and irregular contractions. We were more concerned about the bleeding than what we thought was "false labor." That was between 5 and 6am. Long day short, about 13 hours later, the contractions suddenly jumped in intensity and frequency and I delivered a beautiful little girl within 10 minutes... less than 5 minutes of actual pushing. Delivering at all that day was so unexpected, Mr. Caf had already gone home for the evening! Poor guy missed it... but wouldn't have had any room to stand in the room anyway what with the flurry of 10 residents, nurses, and attending docs who all came running from out of nowhere!
Evelyn Lorelei was born at 6:57pm, at 18.5" and 4 lbs, 13 ozs. She was due on Augus 26, making her about 7 weeks early. But she is doing VERY well and quickly reaching milestones. Her stay in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) will hopefully only be a couple of weeks. I came home yesterday, and am feeling remarkably well.
*Whew!* My best "chop" ever... and by far my fastest!! And YES, EVE, YOU WERE RIGHT IN YOUR PREDICTION FOR A GIRL!
