Hey everyone I have not had a lot of time to chop lately, but when I do find the time I am at a loss for ideas. I don't know if it is the source pics we have to work with or the fact that they won't let me have Booze, Drugs, Sex, Porn you know all the stuff that normally sparks something. I have read a lot of profiles where it ask what people use for inspiration, but most either don't answer or have some silly remark.
I am serious here I can only rotate and stare at a canvas so long before getting pissed off and just watching another episode of Grey's anatomy or chopping a penis onto someone's forehead, and from the posting numbers maybe I am not the only one suffering from this.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well

you could think of a clean up job

or taking a little part of the image and work with that

I get my ideas most of the time during the voting queue, then I hope that the image I can work with gets the most votes, and if not, I just put it in a file and wait for the image to come back in the vote queue.

I try something new every time - don't worry about the NON vote mentality when you try something new. People get used to you being wierd eventually.

Have you tried watching Gilmore Girls? You´d be even more pissed off and would go straight back to chopping...

I read somewhere on here that if you just start cutting elements out of the source it will help to get ideas. It never fails me. Getting into the picture and seeing the different parts it's made of will just start sparking ideas. Well, it does for me anyway. It is hard to think of new stuff all the time thoough. Cool

Somewhere I started a "chopper's block" thread. Got some good tips. Then I stumbled across one on my own. Reading fiction books. Doesn't matter if they're good or long as long as they're descriptive. If the book can make you picture things in your head then it'll help. Especially if it's off-the-wall things.

I've even been reading "kid" books like Harry Potter, the Artemis Fowl series, Eragon & Eldest, etc. Try on some Robert Lynn Asprin, Heinlein (the author not our resident chopper) or Asimov for even trippier imaginings. Cool

Oh another thing you could do is pre-decide on a theme before you even chop. Then shove the source pic into that theme. It's a bit along the lines of Anna's source game from a while back. Very Happy
