I am using garageband on my G5 Tower. It has a dual 2.0 Ghz processor, and 8.5 gigs of RAM, running Mac OSX 10.5.7. My problem is that garageband is lagging so bad that I can't do anything. I can move the window around, and no other apps are affected. I have installed every update, but nothing seems to help.

Any ideas?

Trey, my guess is that the problem is probably with the 10.5.7 update you just installed on your system. I think Garageband experienced similar performance issues when Apple released its 10.5.2 update awhile ago.

Do you remember having these same issues with Garageband while running it under 10.5.6?

Actually, the troubles are what caused me to upgrade.

Reinman could probably straighten out the problem, (but of course he's sleeping - as usual).

In the meantime you might try the Garagband Forum to see if anyone there can help.

I've been there before for one other problem, and it was less than helpful, but I guess I'll try it again.
