For those who don't know...
Our family has been on vacation for 3 weeks. We did a geneological roadtrip
across 5 states and 2 countries. We spent the first week in Kentucky and Virginia
visiting the birthplaces of my father, grandfather, great grandfather and g-g-grandfather.
Then spend 3 days in Richmond, Virginia at the official reunion.
The following week was spent in Jamestown va, Hampton va, and Washington DC.
Had to see all the historic sites while we were in virginia. Jamestown Settlement was fun to see. Hampton Virginia....was on our stop because in 1610 my ancestord landed at Elisabeth City (now called Hampton VA). Our stop in Washington DC was the greatest part of the trip. It was our first time ever in DC.
Saw all the sites (Wash Monument, Lincoln Memorial, WW2 monument, Korean Monument. I made a special visit to Vietnam Memorial becuase one of my ancestors is on the wall. That made the whole trip worth it.
The last week was in London and Bradford, England. This was our first time out of the US. Great Britian was fantastic. We road on the London Eye (Millennium Wheel), went to the british museum, big ben, and the tower bridge. We loved our stay in london. The food was great. Then we spent 3 days in Bradford visiting Bolling Hall. A place one of my ancestors lived nearly 500 years ago. They had a special dinner for our group and a few speakers. There hospitality was top noche.
After visiting great britian....america's history seems so young..compared
to the centuries that the UK and Europe have. I can't wait to visit again and
spend more time. We took over 1000 pictures on this trip and some video too.
I will be posting a gallery soon so everyone can see
PS...The PSC Photowalk will start in my birthday...Nov 11th.
