I finally uploaded photos today.... Suddenly a 50% gray filled my screen with a dialog box and text in several languages: Your computer must be restarted. Press and hold the power button for several seconds.

Okaaaaay.... done. Nothing looks amiss... UNTIL

Rebooted iPhoto: Your iPhoto Library has been damaged and cannot be opened. Please restore from a previous version.

Um... um...

At best, Time Machine will have everything up to my upload today. I uploaded from two cameras and already erased the first card. I have no idea if my files will still be intact... Certainly Time Machine does not back up instantly...

I was getting frustrated, so I turned the computer off again for now. (I'm on my laptop.) It's my husband's birthday tomorrow and I have several things I want to do this evening. Hopefully I'll get my photos up and posted "in time."

sigh.
