To late, it is all to late
Trains could go on time - even clocks
Chicken roost in time - and the sun starts off the day
Should no-one die before their time – you’d say
No-one lie down before they fall
It is all to late, always to late
Remorse over what you do
Judging what you see
Words that you say
Boundaries that you lay
What you want
And what you should
Even what you thought you could
Other then what you did
If only you had been ready for it
But no, you were not
It is all to late, to late - so this is what you’ve got
Till death finds your life in mid tune
And that is way to soon…
This is my translation of a song that I heard sing today on television, in my native language it is called "Te Let" (in English that is To Late) - and the singer was Rients Gratama. I thought it was a nice way to put bygones aside and start afresh for the New Year.
