I've found a site grid template that has a grid layout of 24 columns defined by the guides. Leaving the guides on makes it really hard to see details in the design. Confused

I know that I can change the color, and line style, for guides (at least in CS3). But is it possible to change the transparency?

ctrl+H switches between guides visibility, that's your only option i'm afraid, never heard of transparent guides. I could be wrong tho! Smile

you could use the pen tool to recreate the guidelines, then on a new layer stroke the path you've created. Then you can do whatever you want to the transparency.

But of course the layer wouldn't act as guidlines any more...

Dechenle#5 beat me to it. I also would suggest "manual guidelines" for whenever you need specialty guides.

Thanks for the suggestions. Very Happy

There's a metric f-load of guide lines in this PSD so I think ctrl-H to hide/unhide would be the best route for me to use. Thanks for that tip supa!
