I can't draw for crap, but I have an idea for a "political cartoon" type of image I'd like to do.
Any ideas on how to handle this?
Do newspapers accept ideas for that sort of thing?
Maybe I can make a really horrible chop of what I am thinking just go get the "lay of the land" and work on tracing/drawing over it to get the results?
Or does anyone feel like drawing one?

Scribble something and send it in. That's how Shoe and Jeff MacNelly did it at the UNC paper: Shoe would draw something, Jeff would improve the idea and make it pretty.

I keep checking the obituaries to see if my name is there. If it's not, then I figure I'm ok.

I can't think, but I can draw. The only problem is I can only draw what I think.
I am torn between the clone and eraser. I know how to be vague, but want a very clear answer. My slate is blank. Please provide the chalk to clarify my message.
Goddamn I'm a flippant m'f'r.
LOL. Please take this in the humorous way it was intended.

Ha, you got me just before I toned down my act ( 1/8th a notch).
Love your avatar!!! The background makes the positive negative. The first few times I saw it I thought it was some obscure well-lit pumpkin carving. Then I checked out some of your work and realized I'm just old. Hands and an apple tricked my 47 year old eyes. Made me feel awesome - not!
Cheers

LOL. I'm in denial with the glasses. My readers sit on my desk while I crane my neck and squint at the screen trying to mask an image!

I am thinking an image of Obama driving (one handed) a deep kelly green school bus (with gold pin striping), hanging out the driver's window all gung-ho-like, waving a caulk gun and some money in his left hand and money blowing all around behind the bus....
"Cash for Caulkers"
It is an energy efficiency bill that is being proposed, giving BILLIONS of stimulus money to homeowners to retrofit their home into higher energy efficiency ratings. Work must be done by certified contractors, and I just happen to work for NY State's largest supplier of training to become certified.
I have the perfect image in my head, I just can't get it onto paper!
