So. What are your favorite foods of the Holiday Season?

As you can see, I'm quickly running out of mine!

NOTE: That is NOT "root" beer.

I usually close and lock the door starting the 3rd week of November and don't open again until Jan 3rd.
Leave the house dark and huddle with my computer till it's over.

Sniff, sniff! Could that be a Guinness?

Nope, not Guinness! Something BETTER!

BOY!! What a bunch of grumpy cynics! Hellidays outnumbering Holidays, SHAME on you guys. You know, times like this it is always a decision. You can decide to let the overwhelming merchandization of the once delightful celebration ruin a beautiful time of the year, or you can not!

I choose to NOT let it be spoiled for me. I plan to enjoy my friends and the love shared between us and the thought and real reason for this time as I always have. Is Christmas different these days? Yes, of course it is.

I can't help but think of the fact we seem to have come full circle. Its common knowledge that Christ wasn't really born on December 25th, that was an arbitrary decision to have the celebration on that date as it was already a pagan holiday and this was a way of superceding that celebration and overlaying Christianity upon it. Now, however, we seem to have lost the religious significance of December 25th and the commercialization is returning the holiday to a pagan celebration, this time of consumerism.

But it doesn't have to ruin it for you, only if you decide to allow it.

So, its your choice.

I know what my decision is.

So, for those for whom it applies, Merry Christmas.

For those for whom it does not apply, Happy Holidays however you choose to celebrate on not according to your own views and beliefs.

Boy, you can really see where the Dutch and Canadians have a lot in common. Pea and bacon. And SOUP!

Reminds me of a joke.

A poor man is talking to a friend about his dire financial situation and says "Last night for dinner I had pea soup. This morning for breakfast I had pea soup. For lunch I had pea soup. And for dinner I'll have pea soup. Later on I'll pee soup."

"Yes, folks, Tofu is here ALL WEEK LONG! Don't forget to tip your waiter!"

...and they dance at your table! Then off to the champagne room for a little holiday cheer.

The "Champagne Room"? So that is what they call that little room at the back of the peeler club you keep sneaking off to!!
