To make a cool gif, it is supposed to manipulate the source and so, make a chop. In second time animate it. So it is a double work. In my opinion.
But everyone is frre to explain his opinion. Don't you agree?
Yep, I see on animated gifs as a way to hide a bad chop.

Pakimo, feel free to comment on this chop:

I think it's about as good a chop as I can make at this stage. Do you think it's a bad chop? It didn't get many votes, but does that make it bad? The point is that I didn't hide the bad chop behind a GIF. I posted it as a second entry in the contest in which I entered this:

I put a lot of work into the static image and created the GIF for fun. The "fun" turned out to be a lot of work, too, but I was pleased with the result. Not many others were, though. Laughing

Life goes on.

Oh, and the tesseract was inspired by one of the many cool Luxwiz animated avatars.

I do prefer not to pick apart work people have done, nor choppers, as I said earler. It is not my reasoning behind this. I just really don't like animated gifs and personally I hate gifs in contests and I never vote for them. But thats just my opinion, and I am in a minority on this site, and has always been, when it comes to gifs.
Very Happy

I'll take that as a retraction of this:

"Yep, I see on animated gifs as a way to hide a bad chop."

I look at it more as a way to make something as boring as a cleanup job more fun and interesting...
The first frame and last frame of this is the clean up. taking out the alpaca from the original source

I respect your right not to like them though pak. you've long been a critic of gifs here.

Me, I only vote for the ones that have a story or something going on thats clever. if you just animate for the sake of animation... meh.
