Dogs always offer love, and lots of it. She's moved on to another place, to touch someone else in another way, while she runs free as a pup again in a meadow and gets all the treats and love she wants.

I'm so sorry, Charlie..., my heart goes out to you.

My condolences Charlie. Our dog is getting up in years and my wife, kids, and I are literally dreading the day we have to say goodbye.

Like Martrex already said; family dogs are so complete in their love and loyalty. They truly are members of the family for the brief time we have them.

Take comfort in the knowledge that she was loved her entire life and therefore she was happy her entire life.

All my condolences Charlie. Dogs are much more than just animals, they are members of the family. And losing a member of the family is always something tragic. Once again I am sorry Charlie...

If it's any condolence she is waiting for you across the Rainbow Bridge as dogs never leave there masters for long they are just faster than us.

My advice get another dog, don't deprive yourself of these precious creatures.

I know what you are going through. I had to put my best friend Shadow down in February. He had a problem with his spine and the docs could not help him.

Some folks at PSC may remember him as he was a source with our other Husky Suzzi.

Suzzi walks around to this day looking for her friend. Its very hard for her too.
I miss this guy and always will remember the good times.

We have been down that road twice. The last time when the real SeamusOisin died 5 years ago I lasted 2 days before we got another wheaten terrier. I work from home and it was so quiet in the house I was going nuts. So off to the breeder we went and now Harley has shared 5 years with us already.

Last year I was walking to the drug store and there was an older man sitting there with his dog. Someone walked by and as if he didn't like dogs carved a wide swath away from the old man to avoid the dog. As I came upon the scene I asked if I could pet his dog and he said yes. Surpringly I guess he sensed my dismay at the previous person and he said something that I think about everyday.

I quote: "People who don't like dogs have no soul"

When you get another dog, you don't forget the last dog but it just adds to the experience.

Take care and when you do get another dog please post some pictures and let us all share the joy with all of us.

Sorry charlie. I had to say good bye to my cat companion of 17 years last December so I understand your feelings of grief and loss.
