Hello my fellow PSCers.
Yes I know long time since I have posted in the forum, I have been more a voyuer than a chopper of late.

That being said I do have a question for all those artistic and experanced minds in the PSC Univers.

I am developing a new branch with in my company and want to have a Wow factor to show clients. The product should sell it self becasue for once its a good product and well supported with a solid service and backup team. (I put them together).

We use a lot of digatal media, mostly PDF format for sales shit, (As you can tell I still have a high regard for sales shit Laughing ) What I want is like a web page set out with index and all the bells and whistles but stored on a Merory Stick that I can give to clients. Once they place the stick in there PC they have all the infomation at there finger tips just like a web page but no internet needed.

I see it like a electronic book thye can select the area of interest and go direct instead of scrolling page after page. I have created a very large document in Adobe acro but it is still very...ummm...dated if you know what I mean....just PDF after PDF...If you have questions just ask here and I will try and answer as best I can. I guess Im still sorting it out in my head as well but I think you get the idea. Confused

I have played with some of the free on site programs but none transfer well accross to a usb with out mega files and space needed. The usbs are only 1 gig so I guess I am limited there.

So any help you guys can come up with will be apreciated.....so "cry havok and let slip those minds of your's...." Wink

The PDFs are all texts documents on engineering specifications and electrical drawings...I cant post them here due to company policy. (I dont get it either)

Um I guess you could use some thing like this

Dry stuff I know but to us engineer's this is like midget porn.

What I am after is more the style and front page aplication if you know what I mean

Maybe this is a stupid question... but when you click on one of those blocks in the TREE you want a picture showing up of that part of the motor/engine?

I think you got me wrong here mate, not asking some one to do the work asking for advise on what programs or methods would give me the best results, apreciate the offer but I dont want people using there time for my work.

The learning curve would stump most of them, not to mention the moolah it would burn Very Happy
Never thought about Offline websites.

When i program Offline when need scripting and database support i use Wamp (A offline/local web server) I can you can run it from USB but don't think that would be very viable though.

I am out of ideas next best thing is USB or custom software.

Check out http://www.usbwebserver.net/ same kind but more tailored solution.

You may not need scripting support if this is the case static HTML files should work from a usb stick.

1. Just fine just design how you would like it to be. P
2. Put them in the same USB stick and there you have it as long as the links are local the pages will come up.
3. configure Autorun file on the USB Stick to launch index.html when inserted.

Great advice but I think your confusing me with some one who understands web building...best I have ever done is using free web templates you know just stick and paste and away you go.

Any program suggestions..free prefered...would be very apreciated.

You might be aware of this place already but if not, it's well worth taking a thorough look-see. Once loaded onto a usb stick; some of the apps from this site really hold their own. Here's a link to their utilities apps section but look all around the site and you just might find something!
