As many of you know, the coming months are the time of year that we traditionally hold our Reunion Contest and Head To Head Tournament (H2H). Both of those competitions will be held again this year and will be starting fairly soon. However, we are running a bit low on sources right now and don't particularly have a lot of images to choose from for these upcoming events.
Therefore, we have decided to hold a bit of a contest. For the first time ever, we will be awarding prizes for uploaded sources. The contest is pretty straightforward. Starting right now, any member of the site (advantage & non-advantage) with at least 5 entries in the daily contests can upload as many images as desired via a custom uploader that Grefix has created just for this contest. Here is the contest schedule, read carefully:
For your image to be considered for usage as the reunion source, it must be uploaded by March 22nd. The winner will be announced when the reunion source is revealed on March 29th. If your image is not selected as the reunion source, it will still be considered as a potential source for the H2H.
You may continue uploading images after March 22nd up until April 13th for consideration as a potential source for the H2H.
All sources will be selected by the moderator / developer team.
The prizes are as follows:
Reunion Source - 1 Year Advantage membership or $29.95 paid via Paypal (Your choice).
H2H Source - 3 Months Advantage membership or $9.95 paid via Paypal (Your choice).
While there will only be one reunion source chosen, the number of sources selected for the H2H depends on the number of participants. We anticipate that there will be 6-7 sources needed for H2H. Prizes will be paid out as each source is revealed.
Also, for the first time ever, we are allowing you to upload images in portrait orientation. However, please note that your image dimensions need to be exactly 960 wide by 1280 high for portrait and 1280 wide by 960 high for landscape. The file size limit has also been increased to 800kb (from 600kb).
Also, please note that any image that you upload should be yours, not something awesome you found online.
One last thing, if your image is not selected for usage in one of these special events, please do not think that your efforts will have been completely in vain. All of the unused images will be filtered into the daily contest queues if they are of sound quality. However, there won't be any prizes for that, just bragging rights as usual.
Remember, we are looking for images that are very clean and crisp in quality. Cell phone shots are not advisable unless you have a spectacular cell phone camera. Please avoid submitting images that you have captured using digital zoom or where you have to upsize the image to fit the dimension requirements, as they will not have the level of clarity that we are looking for.
