Of course Germans started the fires. Who said otherwise?
anfa wrote: So Bad Muslim kills Good Muslim = All Muslims are bad.
How the fuck does that work?
That story alone proves that not all Muslims are bad.
Who said all Muslims are bad?
You clearly neglected to read what I wrote previously. Yet you comment with sarcasm. Cute.

You did say that though Ted.
And I was not exactly saying your were stupid directly, it was meant to be broader, about if a point becomes so one sided and a persons opinion matches, then it snowballs into generations of handed down hatred and fear against people and cultures that eventually have nothing to do with what the initial problems were.
Also I know we are never going to agree on any of this, but that's all good, it would be no fun at all if everyone agree hey!
I clearly remember this happening 8 years ago and you very nearly fell out with me then. No need to fall out, just having a good 'ol back and forth.
I must say if you search the web you will find good and bad points to all countries leaders, their beliefs and all that is around and in-between.
But your point about Merkel is interesting. While of course not perfect, Germany was expertly managed through the international debt crisis and credit crunch of the last near decade, so much so that her people where the most unaffected on the planet. Also every German I have had the privilege of meeting or spoken too has said the same, and with the migrant crisis I never hear 'dont let them in' or 'send them back to their murder filled existence'. Although of course I am sure there are many who feel the opposite as no culture is perfect.
I guess it is pointless to keep arguing though, we both have totally different mindsets and values. I dont blame you, it is the situation you find yourself, and my situation is how I find myself. Just the way it is as they say.

Also in regards to what happened discussion wise 8 years ago between us about Obama being elected etc.
One point all these years has stuck with me you tried to make to me Ted. You linked some articles about the healthcare system in the UK. And it has always made me chuckle to myself, while at the same time feel bad for Americans, more so now I can see it first hand through the reactions of my wife.
I remember you trying to convince me through a few (dailymail I think again) links, that the NHS is a backwards, socialist nightmare.
The thing that makes me laugh, is yes, the NHS does have issues, of course it does. But the benefits of our healthcare system over here are quite amazing what gets done, for so many, at hardly any cost to the public. Yet you focused on the new worth bad points.
But and this seems to apply over the entirety of your arguments, you base a lot of what you know on research, very good, everyone should learn, no doubt.
But, no amount of web links, newspapers, or whatever can account or equal actually living it, and experiencing it.
I am sure you have had great experiences in your life, and at no point am I trying to belittle them.
But there are things you have said in this thread, that just like 8 years ago are based on one sided information that may have some truth, but comes no where near the actual facts overall.

Ok last point for a bit, but hopefully quite an inspiring point, it certainly made me smile.
When me and my wife got married, we were lucky enough that her mother and father could fly over from Louisiana for it.
Now I love my in laws, they are great people. But the Father especially can be very lets say racist, his beliefs were anti Muslim and anti Obama, and he liked Trump. This would be his first ever trip outside of the states.
While over here, in Leicester, England he spent nearly 2 weeks walking round seeing thousands of all races, including the second largest Muslim population in England outside of London.
At first he was very guarded, but after seeing how his daughter reacted he began talking and sharing stories at lunches, in cafes just walking down the street.
Then in the middle of his stay he badly injured his knee, in his mind he was cursing the fact he did not get travel insurance thinking a massive bill was coming his way. 4 hours later, 1 nurse, 1 doctor, an x-ray, some minor chiropractor work and a course of medication for 2 weeks, and he was set. And if I could have taken a picture of his face when he was told repeatedly there was no bill, nothing, not a penny to pay. First thing out of his mouth was 'why do we not have this back home'...
The great news is since being back in the states, he is a changed man in some ways, but good ways, more open minded and my wives mom will skype and say how he has changed his views on some people he used to look sideways at, yes he is only one man, and it is only minor points, but they are real points. not biased or edited into a publication to make ratings or money or whatever.
Oh I could go on, but hell, just sharing some of my experiences , and some close to me.
Sure it could fall on deaf ears, and probably will, like I said earlier, it wont change any minds here I doubt, but I have always been a sharing kinda guy lol
Anyways, as they say. It is what it is.

Ted come on now, I have lived here for over 25 years in and around Leicester. Well done again for googling something. But what is your point? Are you saying I have been living a lie for the last quarter of a century? Or secretly my Muslim friends are terrorists or just bidding their time to kill each other for the honour of their faith and family. Surely you are not generalising?
I never once said it was perfect here, where you are or anywhere. But your focus on Muslims being the terrors of the planet is quite worrying. Next you'll be telling me African Americans should be all sent back to Africa or re-enslaved!

The Need for Enemies
1.The Soviet threat was a myth
Stalin had no intention of attacking the west. We were to blame for the cold war
It was a Manichean doctrine, seductive in its simplicity. But the supposed military threat was wholly implausible. Had the Russians, devastated by the war, invaded the west, they would have had a desperate battle to reach the Channel coast. Britain would have been supplied with an endless stream of men and material from the US, making invasion virtually hopeless. And even if the Soviets, ignoring the A-bomb, had conquered Europe against all odds, they would have been left facing an implacable US: the ultimate unwinnable war. In short, there was no Soviet military danger. Stalin was not insane.

2. "Why does the USA always have to have an enemy?
After the Berlin Wall and USSR collapsed the country could have benefited from the "Peace Dividend." Did we do it? Nope. We immediately had to go rattle the Muslim cage and stir them up into a frenzy."

4. " A paradox: enemies as the friends of government
Government, and obedience to it, is normally justified by the dangers which are thereby prevented
This was the case put by Thomas Hobbes, writing in 1651 in a Europe in a turmoil of civil wars, where firm government could seem the obvious and only response to the threat from all kinds of internal and external enemies, and where the existence of those enemies and those threats was the clearest possible justification for governments to command, and subjects to obey."

Life isn't meaningless when you have enemies! "

6. "What America needs is a good enemy
An external threat is almost always a cure for national disunity."
