I have played around with a very strange 3-d modelling program called Bryce. Here are some samples:

Awesome Al! I've played around with that program too a while back. Very Cool Program but it was so sloooooow on my old Mac. Maybe after I get the Mega Gaming PC I plan on getting soon I'll look into trying that again.
Almost forgot how cool Bryce is! Thanks for reminding me!

I had the same problem with it, the slowness, but at the time I had a 100MgHz machine so I think I will reinstall and try it again, maybe this weekend.
Thanks guys, glad you like the creations.

More of what Bryce can do. The render time is huge with this program, especially if you use glass or other reflective materials. For these, I would start the render and go to bed.

Those are terrific Gort, reminds me of the old "Cities in flight" books. The close leaves in the lower one are particularl impressive as I always had trouble doing things like that. The boolian rendering always was rough for me.
Yes, start the render and go to bed, sounds very familiar.

Slow renders are normal My longest 3d render was my demo reel, took 5 days.
Some renders from movie productions such as pixar take 30-50 minutes on their supercomputer render farms.

OMG !!!! 5 days! You must have the patience of a saint. Could we get a peek at a still frame or two, CrabbyPatty?

Here are 2 stills from the reel, I was forced to make the main room less realistic, otherwise the render time would have been astronomical, the shot length is 50 seconds, there are 30 frames per second, so that's 1500 frames that need rendering. The time can add up REAL fast
And this one still took 2 days
