Hello, this is my first post. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I can do to my photos to make them look like stock 1950's photography. So far I've been playing with Color balance, curves, photo filters and a few other tools/features. I get pretty decent results but the photos just seem to be missing the mark. The reason I ask is this, I've been taking pictures of 1950's architecture and old signs and would like to give the photos that vintage look.

Any help would be appriciated. Thank You.

Ok, would this be just to add some "noise" or make them look a bit worn out? Thanks.

Can you maybe post an example pic (un-edited) and let us play with it?

That would be awesome!! I'll show you the original and what I was able to do with it. The pic I'm posting is the one (and only) that I'm most happy with. Hold on I'll upload it and post again. Thanks.

edited. I kinda like how this one came out but can't remember exactly how I did it. If I remember correctly I used the color balance tool and added reds and yellows to each the highlights, midtones and shadows. I might have also added a photo filter but used a color, blck at like 50-60% oppacity.

Here's the original.

Here are two other stock photos for you to try. Thanks.

Actually, I think you did a fairly decent job there, hammy. Thanks for posting the pics though. I'm sure a few people will have a play with them and offer some advice.

Thanks again. I do like that one but I can't seem to do it for all photos, only a select few. I wonder why. I guess I need more practice.
