Why did they have electronic voting machines with no paper tracking?
They could've made is so that the machines printed a receit that the voter would've deposited in a box used by the poll staff to compare the electronic final count.
But I guess nobody tought of that. *cough* cough*
Or maybe it was more convenient the way things were.

Yes, I'm sure that Bush is the one to blame for each separate state's voting procedures.

This might be the controversial thread you've been looking for!
Especially if ScionShade or any like-minded PSCers turn up here and take up the gauntlet TheJackal has thrown down...
HA!! Funny HT!!
Unlike Jackal, I am not allowed to express my opinion on this subject
if i wish to continue to participate in this community.
I actually find the "auto-log-out" a bit more disturbing
than the whining.

We have Harry Potter as our PM. And above that, we are a tolerant country which is good in having freedom of speech etc. but here we have the downside of being too tolerant.
Also, if you kill someone here you can get as low as 4 years in prison (two if you get parole) and if you do not wish to pay for your speeding tickets, you might end up in prison for that same amount of time
My guess: politics suck

Patim - sounds very much like the UK.
Well... apart from the "Harry Potter" PM. We have a smarmy git instead...
At times he looks like the grinning Joker out of Batman...
Or alternatively, according to Private Eye magazine, a troll:
What, me worry?
